“Laapataa Ladies” is sweet, sincere, and entertaining. The movie has a solid premise that lends itself nicely to a situational comedy. I think the movie balances drama, comedy, and social commentary well where it never feels like too much of one thing. I really liked the last bit of the movie where all the story elements came together and it felt very sweet and heartwarming. Overall, it is one of the better movies to come out of India in the last few years and it is surprisingly effective considering its small scale and straightforward premise.
