Deepwater Horizon

The second half of “Deepwater Horizon” is a nonstop thrill ride that kept me on the edge of my seat. The movie has a constant feeling that something bad is about to happen, and I felt the tension throughout. Mark Wahlberg is great in yet another biopic movie that is also directed by Peter Berg. This pair teaming up seems to work well, and I hope they do it again in the future. The movie is also visually impressive and everything looks very convincing. I also feel the intensity of the movie was heightened by the way the movie utilized sound. It is also an emotional movie by the time it ends and definitely has something to say. I did feel that the expository scenes may have gone on just a bit too long, but they still do a good job in making the audience care. It is both thrilling and relevant and a movie I recommend.

4.5/5 STARS

  1. I agree. The beginning of the movie was dragging a bit but, once the action scenes came in to play it really hit off for me. As a military wife I was at the edge of my seat and felt my heart racing with certain scenes that I could relate to. (Though the movie was not a military one).
Would watch it over again and not get bored.
